Rooted in faith. Growing together.
Why I built the Village
Hi, I'm Lissa. Motherhood has brought me some of the greatest joy of my life — and some seasons when I found myself searching for answers, reassurance, encouragement, and women who understood.
Again and again, I realized how many of us were quietly asking the same questions. So instead of waiting to find the perfect village, I decided to help build one.
Fruitful Village isn't about one woman having all the answers. It's about bringing women together to share what we've learned, ask better questions, encourage one another, grow in faith, and connect with trusted voices when professional expertise matters.
I'm glad you're here. Pull up a chair — there's room for you.
Founder · Mother · Community BuilderWhy a village
For most of human history a mother was surrounded. Her own mother, her sisters, her neighbors. Somebody cooked. Somebody held the baby. Somebody said "this part is hard for everyone" and meant it.
Most of us don't have that anymore. Building it back on purpose — a friend who texts, a church group, a woman down the street, a website that tells the truth — isn't a luxury. It's infrastructure.
A village that prays with you, laughs with you, and walks with you.
Our philosophy
Serve first. Build trust.
Serve first. Build trust. Create community. Recommend selectively. Monetize transparently.
Serve first
Every page has to help a woman feel seen, supported, informed, encouraged or connected. If it doesn't do at least one of those, it doesn't belong here.
Monetize transparently
Affiliate links are labeled where they appear, never hidden in a footer. Commissions never determine what we feature or what we say about it.
Recommend selectively
We would rather share five things we mean than fifty that fill a page. Where a free option works as well, we say so.
Know our limits
We are not a medical provider. Health content here is educational, and we'll tell you plainly when something needs a qualified professional.
Say when evidence is thin
Where research is limited or mixed, we write that. Traditional use gets called traditional use.
Rooted in faith
Faith runs through the Village rather than sitting in one corner of it. And nobody is ever asked to believe anything to belong here.
Who I am, stated plainly
This matters more than a list of nice things, so the "nots" are on the same list.
- ✓Founder of Fruitful Village
- ✓Mother, living the seasons written about here
- ✓Community builder — not an authority figure
- ✕Not a physician, nurse, midwife, dietitian, therapist, pharmacist or any other licensed healthcare professional
- ✕Not able to diagnose, treat or prescribe — and I won't pretend otherwise
A note for launch: if Lissa holds certifications she would like displayed, they will be shown using their exact legitimate titles. Nothing is listed here that hasn't been verified.
Bringing trusted voices in
No one person should pretend to know everything. As the Village grows we're bringing knowledgeable voices to the table — OB/GYNs, registered dietitians, pelvic floor physical therapists, licensed therapists, lactation consultants and other women's-health professionals — so women can hear from qualified professionals alongside the lived experiences of other mothers.
We will not publish contributor profiles before those people genuinely exist, and we will not label anything expert-reviewed unless a named professional actually reviewed it. Read our editorial standards.
A gentle reminder: Fruitful Village shares educational information about natural and holistic family wellness. It isn't medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it doesn't replace your midwife, OB, or pediatrician. Please talk to your provider before starting anything — especially for babies under twelve months, in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or alongside any prescription. Read the full disclaimer.
