How we treat one another

The Village Square is being built as a place women can say the hard thing out loud. That only works if it is safe to do so.

These guidelines apply anywhere Fruitful Village hosts conversation — the Village Square, prayer threads, comments, and any community space we open later. They are written plainly on purpose. Nobody should need a lawyer to know how to behave kindly.

Health and wellness conversations

This is the one we are strictest about, because it is the one that can cause real harm.

  • Share your experience, not a prescription. “This is what happened to me” is welcome. “This is what you should do” is not.
  • Please don’t diagnose anyone. Not another member, not her child, not her husband. You may be right and it still isn’t safe — you are reading a paragraph, not examining a person.
  • Don’t tell anyone to stop a medication or skip care her provider has recommended. Encouraging someone away from medical care is the fastest way to be removed from here.
  • Say where it came from. If you are passing on something you read, link it. “I read a study” and a link to the study are very different contributions.

Nothing shared by a member is medical advice, and neither is anything on this site. See our Medical & Wellness Disclaimer.

When someone is in danger

If a member describes being in immediate danger, or thoughts of harming herself or anyone else, this is not the place to work it out. Contact emergency services on 911. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by call or text, 24 hours a day. Tell a moderator so we can reach out too.

We will always leave a post like that up long enough to get help to her, and we will never shame anyone for writing it.

Disagreeing well

Women here will land in different places on feeding, birth, schooling, medicine, and doctrine. That is expected, and it is not a problem to be solved. What we ask is simple: argue with the idea, never with her worth.

  • No mocking, name-calling, or pile-ons.
  • No telling another mother she is harming her children because she chose differently than you.
  • If a conversation stops being useful, step away from it. You are allowed to let someone be wrong on the internet.

Faith here

Fruitful Village is Christ-centered and makes no apology for it. Members come from different churches and different depths of faith, and questions are welcome — including hard ones. What we don’t host is proselytising for other beliefs, or using scripture as a weapon against another member.

Privacy — hers and yours

  • What is shared here stays here. Don’t screenshot or repost another member’s words elsewhere.
  • Don’t post anyone else’s private information — photos of other people’s children included.
  • Think before sharing your own details. A private group is not the same as a secure one.

Selling and promotion

The Village Square is not a marketplace. Please don’t recruit for multi-level marketing, advertise a business, or drop affiliate links. If you genuinely love a product and someone asked, say so plainly and disclose any stake you have in it.

When Fruitful Village recommends something, we tell you how we chose it and what we earn — see Editorial Standards and our Affiliate Disclosure.

What gets removed

Content will be removed if it:

  • gives medical direction, or pushes someone away from their provider;
  • attacks, harasses, or mocks a member;
  • shares someone else’s private information or images;
  • promotes a business, MLM, or affiliate link;
  • is sexually explicit, hateful, or graphic;
  • is spam, or posted by an account that exists to spam;
  • isn’t yours to post — see copyright below.

How we moderate

Most of the time we’ll simply remove the post and tell you why. A pattern of it, or anything that puts a member at risk, ends membership without a warning period. Fruitful Village may remove content or members at its discretion, and being removed isn’t a judgement on your worth — it means this particular room isn’t working with you in it.

We are a small family running this, not a moderation team. We will not catch everything immediately, which is why reporting matters.

Reporting something

Use the report option in the group where you see it, or write to us at support@fruitfulvillage.com. Tell us where it is and what concerned you. You can ask us to keep your name out of it, and we will.

Copyright

Post your own words and your own photographs. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, write to support@fruitfulvillage.com with the work involved, where it appears, and your contact details, and we will remove it while we look into it. Full terms are in our Terms of Use.

One last thing

These guidelines will change as the Square grows and we learn what it actually needs. When they do, we’ll say so rather than quietly editing the page.
